Introduction

Welcome to my website.

I am by profession a dressage rider/trainer based near Oxfordshire. I hope this site will begin to demonstrate my way with horses, which is quite simply their correct training and education.

By correct, I denote working with the horse’s natural structure and biomechanics to produce movements used primarily in competition which are produced freely by the horse in nature. Put simply, it is to work alongside the horse, physically and some might say emotionally to bring about the partnership of harmony and therefore trust.

I have progressed to this career genuinely very naturally, riding once I could support myself, here on the family beef and arable farm. Competition became something of a normality, trekking up and down the country with my mum and sister, entering  show classes. School education came second in my young years much to my happiness!

At  8 years old, I won the championship at the prestigious Royal International Horse Show. This was a turning point for me. I learnt early on that honest hard work, and time over training gave the most amazing rewards of success and pride. I knew this would be my career, if not my life.

On leaving full time education, I passed and began using my Sports Massage Diploma, began training people’s “problem” horses, as well as educating myself further with Irish International Grand Prix rider Alison Davies, with whom I spent up to 6 years.

Experience was added to whilst training with Ulrick Moolgard, Peter Storr and Judy Harvey (FEI judge) here in the UK,  Bernward Schleuter in Germany, as well as the prestigious Cadre Noir in France.

France, I have to say consolidated my desire and indeed passion for honesty to the horse, and correctness in my training. My competitive childhood ignited the flame for competition which still burns brightly, so giving me the perfect balance of progression in training for horse and rider.

Please use the website to discover more about my time in France with classical training being at the heart of my principles, look for diary dates on the calendar and the services I can offer. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any queries or discussions.
